The Stewart Building has three full floors of educational, gallery and performance space. These spaces can be rented for meetings or performances. The main floor and gallery space is ideal for receptions or weddings. Read on for more details on facility rental.
Art Gallery
The Grinnell Arts Gallery, located on the main floor, hosts approximately one show a month displaying local and regional artists works. The space has also held performances such as Rosa and Blanca in the summer of 2010 and the Actors Theatre of Grinnell’s 2011 production, Waiting For Godot. Concerts are also held in this area. Stewart Wing
Informally named such for the portrait of Joel Stewart hanging above the fireplace, the north room of the main floor has acted as a meeting space, a photography gallery, and a reception area.
Lower Level Education Area
Downstairs, prepare to get creative! Packed with art supplies and pottery wheels, you’ll be awash with color when walking into the arts education space. Studio 4, an art program for K-4 students meets here after school during the fall, spring and summer sessions. This space is also used for adult workshops and art education classes.
Upper Level Education/Meeting Area
This large meeting area hosts several of the Studio 8 art classes. The space is open most days for meetings.
